I'm in love with imaginary people! John Sheppard, The Doctor, David Creegan, Patrick Jane, Sherlock Holmes, Castiel, Darien Fawkes, Gary Hobson, Chance Harper, Jake Green, John Crighton... you know, all the hotties with the sad puppy dog eyes. I just want to fawn all over them. The chicks: River Tam, Kaylee Frye, Illiria, Rose Tyler, Amelia Pond, Max Guevara, Willow, Areyn Sun. I want to be these bitches.

I make gifs and icons, reblog my favorite posts, dabble in art and css design, and rant about random shit here and there. You can use any of my gifs and icons however you like. Just make sure they are MY gifs and not something I reblogged or iconized. Some of my good art is at mercave.deviantart.com. I don't really go there or make much these days, but have a look see at my old stuff. Feel free to invade my ask box and enjoy the drool.

You may want to resize the images or remove the block quote when you reblog me. :P

Haunted House that I did not make.
(This was just a cool scene from the Dresden Files. Not really haunted at all.)
Well, actually I did gif it, but damn it all, I’m destroying my haunted house flow.

Most of my cases are pretty tame. Someone loses a piece of jewelry with a lot of sentimental value, or someone comes to me because they’ve just moved into a new house and it’s a little more haunted than the seller’s disclosure indicated. Nothing Chicago’s only professional wizard can’t handle—but the cases don’t usually rake in much money, either.

So when a man in a two-thousand-dollar suit opened my office door and came inside, he had my complete attention.

I mean, I didn’t take my feet down off my desk or anything. But I paid attention.

Harry Dresden, Curses

LaMercave: So, Bob?

katiedanger:

mercave:

Bob: Yes?
Harry: This resurrection thing, death, your punishment. You gonna’ fill me in?
Bob: Winifred, she was a sorceress.
Harry: What, she was the one that turned you into a ghost?
Bob: She is the one I lost my heart to… all those centuries ago.
Harry: Yeah? And?
Bob: She died… and…

Is it bad that I actually really liked this version of Bob? Not more than the book Bob, but I thought he was a really interesting character. (not to mention brilliantly played by Terrence Mann)

No! Jim Butcher himself said he loved this version of Bob. Don’t ask me where I read that, though. Long time ago.

So, Bob?

And?
Bob: She died… and I brought her back.
Harry: You brought her back?
Bob: Yes. I transgressed. I crossed the line… several times. I wanted her back so badly I destroyed us both.

And for my pains I was sentenced to spend all eternity in my skull.

Harry: Oh Bob.

I love sad Bob. Terrence Mann has not been in enough things, I swear.

…Is Re-watching The Dresden Files

So many gifable moments but I’m really not in the mood. I’m just going to watch them all tonight, bask, and move on. I miss this show. Bob is so much more British and endearing but Harry is not sarcastic enough.

Four things you should know if you love (or are thinking of loving) the Dresden Files:

1) Jim Butcher has a livejournal and in a few short posts taught me more about plotting, planning, and character development than a semester of boring writing classes.

2) Jim’s wife writes Romance novels and makes amazing book thongs. She’s the reason I started making gobs of my own. My goal is to have a dedicated book thong for every book series I read. Finding the right charm can be soooo hard but cheap ear rings are amazing donors.

3) Nicolas Cage is a huge fan of the series, was an executive producer for the show, but when things didn’t work out, he went on to star in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice as a Harry Dresden lookalike (the cover version… with the hat.)

4) Lastly, I’m ashamed to say I only found this out last year, the books are narrated by James Friggin Marsters. You should totally check out the chapter samples online. He is perfection. Sadly, he’s not narrating the last book. Though I don’t really listen to books… ever, it still breaks my heart.
